Resident Representative of Armenia to Council of Europe Armen Papikian presents his credentials to CE Secretary General

The Resident Representative of Armenia to the Council of Europe Armen Papikian on October 18 presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland. During a talk held after the official ceremony, Armen Papikian briefly presented the processes taking place in Armenia, in this connection underlining the importance of Armenia-CE cooperation in terms of approval and implementation of clear-cut programs. Speaking about the reforms in the Council of Europe, Ambassador Papikian said that Armenia, as previously, is ready to assist the Secretary General with the CE reforms. Welcoming the newly-appointed Resident Representative of Armenia, Thorbjorn Jagland said that Armenia is actively involved in the processes of the Council of Europe, expressing satisfaction that Armenia’s perception of CE reforms and further development of Armenia-CE cooperation coincide with his ideas and approaches. In his words, the purpose of the CE is to use the experience gained by the organization for the needs of the member states. NT was informed by the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the sides also discussed the issues related to the promotion of cooperation of CE and other international organizations.
