YEREVAN, JANUARY 29, NOYAN TAPAN. 7,126 emergencies were registered in Armenia in 2006, as a result of which 483 people died and 4,563 suffered. According to the annual report submitted by the RA Ministry of Territorial Governance on January 26, in 2006 special importance was attached to creation of the new system on expert assessment of the present seismic danger, development of the draft system of early warning of Yerevan's population, compiling the list of important facilities of the RA seismic protection sphere, and drawing the schematic maps of seismic risks of the cities of Gyumri and Vanadzor (for the first time). By the report, last year 179 families received apartment purchase certificates. This year 815 mln drams (about 2.2 mln USD) has been allocated by the state budget for implementation of a similar program. The 2006 activities of the RA Ministry of Territorial Governance were assessed as "good" by the prime minister.
