YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, NOYAN TAPAN. The book "Woodrow Wilson: the Man and the Political Scientist" by lawyer Tigran Sahakian is dedicated to life and political activity of 28th President of U.S., great politician, great friend of Armenian people, Woodrow Wilson. The book's presentation took place on November 22 at the Armenian National Library. In the words of the book's author, the "wonder" worked by the American politician, making of the decision On Delimitation Between Turkey and Armenia, Armenia's Outlet to the Sea and Demilitarization of Turkish Territories Adjacent to Armenian Borders for the purpose of adoption of the Armenian mandate by the U.S. and on the basis of the Treaty of Sevres is of special importance for Armenian people. He said that the 86th anniversary of this decision is marked on November 22. According to Articles 88-89 of the Treaty of Sevres, as much territory was to be annexed to the Western Armenia as U.S. President Woodrow Wilson would decide by arbitration. And this decision of great historic and international-legal importance was made on 1920 November 22, according to which 90.000 sq.km. area was annexed to the Republic of Armenia creating a United and Independent Armenia with a territory of 161.000 sq.km. In the future, after Woodrow Wilson's grave illness and untimely decease the states having signed the Treaty of Sevres did not ratify it, which, however, does not decrease the huge historic and international legal significance of either this treaty or the decision made by Wislon. In T.Sahakian's words, Wilson is numbered among such friends of Armenia as Alexander Griboyedov, Valery Brusov, Anatole Franz, Fridtjof Nansen, Johann Lepsius, Franz Werfel and other exclusive great people. The author gave 20 copies of the book to the National Library.
