PROGRAM ON ARMENIAN-GERMAN EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION TO BE
SIGNED IN 2007

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, NOYAN TAPAN. A cooperation program is
envisaged to be signed in Yerevan the next year to activize the
Armenian-German educational-cultural ties. An agreement was
reached about it during the November 12-15 working visit paid to
Germany by the delegation of the RA Ministry of Education and
Science.
According to the information submitted to Noyan Tapan by
the Press Service of the RA Ministry of Education and Science,
the delegation headed by Minister Levon Mkrtchian left for
Germany at the invitation of J.Olbertz, the Minister of Science,
Education and Culture of Saxony-Anhalt. Cooperation programs
existing in the sphere of secondary and higher education were
discussed during the visit.
The German side expressed readiness to assist increase of
the quality of teaching German at Armenian schools and
institutions of higher education and spreading of culture.
Particularly, it is envisaged to implement an all-embracing
program on training of teachers of the German language.
The Armenian side arose the issue of necessity of steps
assisting development of Armenology in Germany. It was mentioned
that the issue of assisting not only Armenian specialists but
also German specialists interested in Armenology is important in
Germany. An agreement was reached on organizing German students'
education in Armenia.
Besides, within the framework of the intercommunication
program being implemented among 8 schools of Armenia and German
Saxony-Anhalt region (4 schools from every country), it was
decided to create an Armenian-German pupils' club which will be
open for pupils of other schools as well. Directors of 4
Armenian schools and teachers of German are in Germany during
those days. They hold classes at German schools and participate
in other events within the framework of the program on exchange
of experience.
