VANADZOR, MAY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. Although the process of receiving applications from citizens for deposit compensation has been completed, there are still people who continue applying to the territorial center of social services. The center received 14,225 applications from 5,825 citizens in the period from April 12 to May 12. Head of Vanadzor territorial social service agency Aram Mkrtchian told NT correspondent that such a large number of applications is due to the fact that some citizens had more than one savings books of the USSR Savingsbank. The process of paying compensations will start in July or August. The state has allocated a billion drams from the state budget for this purpose. The issue of how many of the envisaged 9 groups will be given compensations for deposits will be decided during payment of sums. Those citizens, who failed to apply to the territorial agency of social services in time, will be given an opportunity to do so next year. Aram Mkrtchian denied the rumors that citizens eligible for compensation will be deprived of benefits.
