YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. The conference which took place at the RA National Academy of Science was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Vardan Achemian, one of the prominent figures of the Armenian theater. As Yervand Ghazanchian, the Chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures of Armenia mentioned, this session organized on the initiative of the RA NAS Art Institute and the Union of Theatrical Figures will become a peculiar appreciation and interpretation of the creative life of Vardan Achemian. According to Y.Ghazanchian, Achemian became the leader, conscience and honour of the Armenian theater just by the theatrical traditions created during his interesting and productive life. The famous director, being a continuer of the Russian theatrical traditions in Armenia, at the same time created the new and national ones for the Armenian theater. All performances staged for Achemian's theater and opera are even today considered rare theatrical models by their powerful and lasting tale.
