4 CHESS-PLAYERS OF ARMENIA TO PARTICIPATE IN PERSONAL
CHAMPIONSHIP OF EUROPE

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Chess-players' women personal
championship of Europe will take place in Kishinev on June
10-25. It is envisaged that 170 representatives from about 30
countries will participate in the 6th championship of the old
continent. Chess-players from Armenia will also participate in
the competitions: they are Elina Danielian, Lilit
Mkrtchian, grand masters; Siranush Andreasian, Lilit
Galoyan, international masters.
The European championship is also of an electoral
character: besides a winner, those 17 chess-players, who will
get a right to participate in the world regular championship,
will also be decided. Danielian and Mkrtchian, two most
powerfull chess-players of Armenia already have such a right.
The European championship to be held in the capital of
Moldova is attractive with the fixed prizes as well. The general
prize fund is 44 thousand US dollars, prizes are envisaged for
the participants who will win first 25 places, and Europe's
champion will get 7 thousand dollars.
The struggle of the championship to be held in Kishinev
will go on with Swiss contest rules, in 12 rounds. In a case of
dividing the prize-winning places, additional mini-contests will
be set with shortened regulations.
