"PAYMENTS FOR USING MATRIXES SHOULD BE MADE BY STATE
BUDGET," RUBEN TARUMIAN BELIEVES

YEREVAN, JULY 25, NOYAN TAPAN. The system and legislation
of copyright "reprinted" from the Western Armenian do not
operate in Armenia and it is necessary to return to the system
operating in the Soviet years. This opinion was expressed by
letter creator Ruben Tarumian during his conversation with a
Noyan Tapan correspondent.
According to him, it is expedient that, in particular,
authors are paid annual sums for using the complete set of
matrixes by the RA National Book Chamber at the expanse of the
RA state budget. Such an order is considered to be justified,
according to Ruben Tarumian, since, for example, the use of a
good matrix by publishers contributes to the good sale of the
publication and its great tax volume.
The prices of the complete sets of matrixes in the
international scene fluctuate depending on the fact of how many
complete sets a customer buys at once from the general network
site or a shop on a laser disc. For example, the "Adobe" company
sells discs of complete sets of 9 to 10 thousand matrixes, which
cost 9 to 10 thousand dollars and the "AGFA Monotype" company
sells discs of complete sets of 140 to 150 matrixes by 300 to
400 dollars, and as for the prices of the complete set of a
matrix through internet sites, they can fluctuate between 20 to
100 dollars.
According to Ruben Tarumian, the graphic complete set of a
matrix is created during a month on average. He also mentioned
that not only Armenian but also foreign letter creators, who
often take first prizes, take part in international competitions
with Armenian matrixes.
