NUMBER OF ENTRANTS RECEIVING 19-20 IN ARMENIAN LANGUAGE,
LITERATURE EXAM REDUCED NEARLY 10 TIMES AS COMPARED WITH
PREVIOUS YEARS

YEREVAN, JUNE 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Currently the number of
school-leavers appealing against the results of Armenian
Language, Literature united examination makes 10% of the total
number of examination participants against 15% in the previous
years.
RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Bagrat Yesayan
reported this at the June 7 press conference. It should be
mentioned that in case disagreeing with the results the
school-leavers could appeal against them until June 7, 18:00, at
that, application-complaints should be handed in only by those
taking exams. The appeal results will be publicized until June
11, 15:00.
Director of Center for Giving Marks and Testing of RA
Ministry of Education and Science Vanya Barseghian said that 53
thousand leavers took part in Armenian Language, Literature
exam, 15 thousand out of which in united exam. 300 leavers
received dissatisfactory marks, 562 leavers or 5.5% of exam
participants received maximum marks, 19-20. So, this year the
number of leavers receiving highest marks has reduced nearly 10
times as compared with the previous three years. The average
mark in almost all regions of Armenia is 14.3 and in the respect
of good marks high indices were registered in Yerevan and Kotayk
region.
In general, a high turnout was registered at the united
exams: only 164 leavers were absent from exams, which made 1.1%
of the total number. As Vanya Barseghian reported, some of them
have already introduced health certificates. It was mentioned
that one more centralized exam will be held until July 10 for
leavers who were absent for exams for a valid reason, for those
demobilized from army, as well as those who studied abroad by
interstate agreements.
The checking of final exams works is still underway, the
results will be published until June 20.
