The issue of the school uniform must be solved exceptionally by the principle of free-will and not by the Ministry or Governor's Offices, other school staff, particularly, parents' council. Levon Mkrtchian, the RA Minister of Education and Science stated about it at the May 29 press conference. In the Minister's words, gathering of money started in a number of secondary schools of the republic during the recent period. It is for meeting the new academic year with a school uniform what arose a wave of protest among the society. "Compulsory gathering of money implemented in that direction is inadmissible. If mayor's offices, governor's offices or village head's offices make such a decision, let them make a decision also on the issue how to assist those parents who have no possibility to buy a corresponding uniform," L. Mkrtchian said.
