JOINT EXAM ON "ARMENIAN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE" SUBJECT TO BE
HELD AT 55 EXAMINATION CENTERS

YEREVAN, MAY 30, NOYAN TAPAN. School-leavers of the
2006-2007 academic year and the previous years of the secondary
schools of Armenia will pass the joint exam on the Armenian
Language, Literature subject at 55 examination centers. There
will be 19 examination centers in Yerevan. As Levon Mkrtchian,
the RA Minister of Education and Science stated at the May 29
press conference, more than 50 thousand pupils leave schools of
Yerevan and the marzes this year among who about 16 thousand
school-leavers will participate at the centralized examination
being held by the joint (A and B levels) system.
From the marzes of the republic, most of school-leavers
addressed for having a competition point on the Armenian
Language subject at the entrance exams of the institutions of
higher education are from the marzes of Shirak and Tavush,
correspondingly 1457 and 1402 school-leavers. The least of
entrants were registered from the marzes of Vayots Dzor and
Aragatsotn, correspondigly 282 and 654. 13 874 school-leavers
will participate in the exam from Yerevan, 8 thousand 884 of who
will pass the exam by the school-leaving system and 4 thousand
990 ones will pass by the joint system. The Minister mentioned
that among the school-leavers of the previous years 1205 ones
will this year pass a joint exam on the Armenian Language
subject for entrance exams of the institutions of higher
education.
Results of the joint and final exams to be held on June 1
will become known only in seven days.
