YEREVAN, APRIL 2, NOYAN TAPAN. On RA Prime Minister Andranik Margarian's initiative April 1 was involved in the official calendar of Armenia as the day of "Satire and Humour" and a group of satirists envisaged to celebrate this year that day with great lustre, with the Prime Minister's assistance. But, as humourist Samvel Baghdasarian stated at the March 31 press conference, a number of events, including festive parade envisaged at the Azatutian (Independence) square and "Mekits Mek" (One in One) humorous concert to take place at the Al. Spendiarian Opera and Ballet National Academic Theater were not to take place because of the Prime Minister's premature death. "After the Prime Minister's death some changes were to be done in scenarios of these programs but they would bring to falsity when satire and humour can not be false," S. Baghdasarian mentioned. In his words, an exhibition of satiric paintings dedicated to April 1 opened on April 1 on the Ch. Aznavour square, premierre of the "Bird" performance took place at the "Agulis" puppet theater, "Musicians Joke" humour program took place at the Aram Khachatrian House-Museum, "Small Secrets of Big Wonders" humour program took place at the Hovh. Tumanian Puppet Theater. In the words of RA People's Artist Rafayel Kotanjian, the Prime Minister had such an attitude towards satire and art that many of our officials do not have. "A. Margarian appriciated the art, and numerous performances and cultural events became a reality with his assistance," the actor emphasized. Touching upon the humourous programs broadcast by TV, Aramayis Sahakian, the editor-in-chief of the "Vozni" (hedgehog) satiric newspaper mentioned that "hunour of low level is today encouraged just in the way the rabis (pop) music is encouraged," that's why the broadcast is full of similar programs. And actor Haroutiun Movsisian expressed an opinion that a day will come when everybody will be tired of the rabis music and vulgarity.
