NEW RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO BE CONSTRUCTED NEAR MARS PLANT

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. Projects of Yerevan's
agglomeration are developed within the framework of the program
of measures on Yerevan's Master Plan. Chief Architect of
Yerevan Samvel Danieian said at the February 12 press conference
that 1 bln 117 mln drams (about 3.1 mln USD) has been allocated
from the state budget for this work.
According to him, the project of Kentron community's zoning
will be completed by April, while the projects of zoning
Ajapniak, Davitashen, Arabkir and Nork Marash communities will be
developed next year. The chief architect noted that by 2009 all
the communities will have their zoning projects and urban
development schemes. The program envisages the inventory of
Yerevan green areas and development of schemes of areas subject
to greenery planting. 500 mln drams will be allocated for this
purpose.
S. Danielian said that the zoning project of the 250-ha
area near the Mars Plant will be worked out this year. It is
envisaged to construct a residential district in this area.
