YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, NOYAN TAPAN. The famous British
dancing-master Nigel Chanock will give two concerts at the K.
Stanislavski Russian Dramatical Theatre of Yerevan on January 31
and February 1. During his Yerevan tour, he will present "Frank"
dance show prepared as far back as 2003. As Nigel Charnock
said at the January 29 press conference, "Frank" is a comic
mixture of monologue, song, dance and the bare truth.
According to N. Charnock, dancing has been his occupation
for 25 years but he has his individual apparoaches, in which he
combines dance, music and the theatrical art. He underlied that
his artistic policy of creation is a free passage from dancing
to dramaturgy and avoiding traditions. His works contain various
forms of art, fusing the text with motion, music, dance and
recently - also with films.
Nigel Charnock was the founder of the DV8 group. In 1995,
he created his own Nigel Charnock + Company.
Being a dissident and innovation supporter, the artist
started to create in a new and unconeventional way, constantly
presenting dance as an inexhaustale source of different means of
expression.
N. Charnock is the author of a number of internationally
recognized dance shows. In 2002-2005, he was the artistic
manager of Helsinki Dance Company. He worked in Denmark,
Portugal, Finland and Wales.
