YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, NOYAN TAPAN. According to the RA laws "On Specially Preserved Territories of Nature" and "On State Non-Governmental Organizations," the RA Government made a decision at the January 25 sitting to found "Khor Virap" state preserve in the 50.28 hectares damp territory being the state property within the administrative borders of the rural community of Pokr (Small) Vedi of the marz of Ararat, by involving the preserve in the list of damp territories of international importance of the convention "On Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat." According to the information submitted to Noyan Tapan by the RA Government's Information and Public Relations Department, the decision was made to secure keeping of the ecosystem, its components, types of flora and fauna, normal development, reproduction and stable usage.
