MONTH OF INCREASE OF AWARENESS CONCERNING INVALIDS'
PROBLEMS HELD IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA Ministries of
Labour and Social Issues, Education and Science, the Bridge of
Hope NGO and the Armenian branch of the Mission East
humanitarian relief organization spent a month of increase of
awareness concerning invalids' problems. As Susanna Tadevosian,
the Chairwoman of the Bridge of Hope NGO mentioned at the
November 8 press conference, the month is implemented within the
framework of the Healthy Start of Life public organizations
program.
Spreading of posters "Your Attitude Influences on my Life
more than my Disability," holding of "Lessons of Kindness" in 30
schools of Yerevan and the marz of Armavir, organization of
disputes and lectures at institutions of higher education with
participation of young invalids and students, presentation of
the booklet entitled "Armenian agenda of events addressed to
protection of invalids' rights and dignity," etc. are envisaged
till December 19.
Kim Hartzner, the Director of the Mission East Armenian
branch mentioned that the Healthy Start of Life program is being
at present implemented in the marz of Armavir, with financing of
the Foreign Ministry of Denmark. In his words, the goal of the
program is to form parents' groups of invalid children gifted
with necessary knowledge and skills in 10 communities of the
marz, to involve local invalid children in the education system.
Besides, it is envisaged to work out a model of improvement of
the health care sphere of the marz, to allocate necessary
resources to show medical assistance to invalid children.
