EXTERNAL BUDGETARY TRANSFERS MAKE 4.2 BILLION DRAMS IN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-August 2006, Armenia received official budgetary transfers of 4.2 bln drams from foreign donors. According to the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy, out of the indicated sum, 2.6 bln drams (about 9.65 mln USD) was allocated by the government of the Netherlands under the World Bank second credit program on poverty reduction, and 963.3 mln drams by the government of the United Kingdom with the aim of providing budgetary assistance to the poverty reduction programs in Armenia. This sum will be used to pay 10% of liabilities as of December 31 on servicing Armenia's state debt to the International Development Agency (IDA). Another 384.3 mln drams was allocated by the government of the UK under the program on development of Gegharkunik and Tavush marzes in Armenia. 285.5 mln drams was provided by the government of Japan. 24.2 mln drams out of the sums allocated by donors was put on the extrabudgetray accounts of state institutions.
