6,445.1 TONS OF FRUITS EXPORTED FROM ARMENIA IN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 29, NOYAN TAPAN. 6,445.1 tons of
apricots, cherries, comels and peaches, and 84.6 tons of grapes
was exported from Armenia in January-August 2006. NT
correspondent was informed at the Agribusiness Development
Center CJSC that there was a growth in exports of cheese and
curd (652 tons), eggs (208,400), tomato paste (1,842 tons) and
vegetable oil (14.5 tons) compared with the same months of 2005.
During the indicated period, 533.1 tons of jam, 989.6 tons
of fruit and vegetable juices, 319.1 tons of canned fruit and
vegetables, and 177.7 tons of ice cream was exported from the
country. 21 tons of pork, 30 tons of frozen fish and 743.4 tons
of crayfish was exported.
Mineral waters (5,914.7 tons), brandy (705.2 thousand
decaliters), wine and champaign (42.9 thousand decaliters), beer
(232.1 thousand decaliters) and cigarettes (3,328.8 tons)
accounted for a large share of Armenia's exports.
