YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The company Aroyan
(Syria) imports air-conditioning and water-cooling systems into
Armenia, occupying about 10% of the Armenian market of these
systems' sale. NT correspondent was informed about it from Raffi
Aroyan, Director of Aroyan Ltd.
According to him, the company has not yet formed its final
plans regarding cooperation in Armenia, and preliminary
negotiations are underway with various companies.
He said that the company Aroyan transports its goods to
Armenia in trucks, which is more expensive than by railway. R.
Aroyan expressed his discontent with the fact that VAT on goods
imported into Armenia is charged not after their sale but at the
moment of their import - on the border which results in the
freeze of money. "It is quite possible that a commodity imported
is not sold within a year," he noted.
The company was set up in 1995 and has seven employees.
