YEREVAN, MAY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. A number of public organizations engaged in children's problems, joint with the UNISEF national net will implement during the coming months an action dedicated to problems of protection of children's rights. As Varuzhan Sedrakian, the Chairman of the Children's Association of Armenia informed at the May 30 press-conference, the action is entitled "Children's Demands." According to him, a number of events will be held within the frameworks of the action, among them children's handworks' exhibitions will be organized in the 10 marzes of the republic and 12 communities of the city of Yerevan, a competition of compositions will be announced for 8-10th grade pupils. V.Sedrakian mentioned that providing existence of sanitary systems with hygienic security in all schools of Armenia, state and legal and life security of future fate of children born in colonies are among the short-term goals of the action. And establishment of the Children's Ombudsman's vacancy in Armenia, creation of special courts for examination of teenagers' cases are among long-term goals of the action. According to V.Sedrakian, up to 50 cases are annually heard in Armenia concerning different law violations implemented by teenagers, but it is not known how many cases are heard on issues of violating children's rights.
