NEW ANTICORRUPTION PROGRAM OF ARMENIA FOR NEXT THREE YEARS
TO BE DEVELOPED

YEREVAN, APRIL 22, NOYAN TAPAN. At the April 21 sitting of
the RA Council on Fight against Corruption, which was conducted
by the Council Chairman, RA Prime Minister Andranik Margarian,
issues related to the Group of States aganist Corruption (GRECO)
recommendations presented to the Republic of Armenia, the
process of implementing the RA anticorruption strategy and the
program on its measures, amendments to the program and other
issues were discussed.
According to Chairman of the Monitoring Commission on
Implementation of Anticorruption Strategy, Advisor to the
Armenian President Bagrat Esayan, more than 20 recommendations
of the GRECO were made available to all the ministries and
departments of Armenia. Based on the answers received, a
schedule of measure implementation was worked out, and it was
proposed including it in the RA anticorruption strategy.
B. Esayan said that during its recent visit to Armenia, the
Council of Europe mission expressed a willingness to provide
comprehensice technical assistance with fulfilment of the CRECO
recommendations in Armenia.
In connection with the completion of the current RA
anticorruption program in 2007, the monitoring commission
discussed a draft revised program. According to the RA
Government Information and PR Department, a decision was made to
publish it in the mass media, and taking into account the
observations and proposals to be put forward during pubic
discussions within the next 6 months, to assign the RA
ministries and departments to develop a new anticorruption
program to be implemented in the country in the next three
years.
