YEREVAN, APRIL 20, NOYAN TAPAN. At the April 18 meeting with Head of the British Council Armenian Office Nigel Townsent, Speaker of the RA National Assembly Artur Baghdasarian attached importance to the British Council's mission in Armenia, expressing a hope that cooperation will continue in an efficient way. According to the RA National Assembly PR Department, N. Townsent presented a number of programs of the British Council, noting that these programs may become a good basis for cooperation with the RA National Assembly. The opportunities of assistance to be provided by the British Council for the purpose of organizing computer and English instruction from the first form of comprehensive schools on the legislative initiative of A. Baghdasarian were discussed during the meeting. The sides pointed out the importance of teachers' training, especially in marzes, and their familiarization with international experience. Welcoming this inintiative, N. Townsent stated a willingness to provide assistance.
