YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. The health care budget of the republic made 32.1 bln drams (about 71 mln U.S. dollars) in 2005. As Norayr Davidian, the RA Minister of Health Care informed journalists on January 17, the 17 mln dollars five-years program of reforms of the system of primary preserving health of the U.S. Angency for International Development has started late the last year. The goal of the program is to show preventing medical assistance and develop the system of primary preserving health. The Minister mentioned that increase of the number of births was fixed in the republic during last three years: this made 36738 in 2003, 37800 in 2004, and according to preliminary data, 38000 in 2005. According to data of the Ministry, 10 cases of mother's death were fixed last year, what is less by 4 compared with 2004. According to N.Davidian, anti-diabetic, anti-tumour, psychotropic, drugging-anesthetic medicines of 1.3 mln drams were got last year. The epidemic situation in the republic was comparatively calm: no infectious diseases of diphtheria, poliomyelitis, infantile tetanus, anthrax were fixed.
