YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, NOYAN TAPAN. Today Armenian theater
started working and creating with new respiration. One may not
say any more that "the history of Armenian theater finished" or
"there is no Armenian theater." There are numerous young actors
and directors who perform wonderful plays with trivial money and
are honoured with prices in foreign countries. Hakob
Ghazanchian, the Artistic Director of the Yerevan Theater of
Young Spectators said during the interview with the Noyan Tapan
correspondent.
But, the producer is sure that it's the time to change the
repertory theaters' working stile remained from the Soviet years
which greatly obstacles both organization and creative works of
the theater. "We still work by the old Soviet stile and use
money allocated by the state productively. Even more, we can't
discharge a bad actor with clear conscience, he can say that
he's worked at the theater for a life, that the theater is his
home, etc.," he mentioned. Besides, according to the producer,
such people are appointed directors of theaters in Armenia, who
don't know theater at all, have no idea about the theatrical
work.
Hakob Ghazanchian considers necessary a fundamental
reformation for reforming work of theaters. "It's necessary to
find a new stile of management of theaters, it's necessary to
prepare cultural producers, it's necessary to learn lessons of
American and European stiles of management of theaters," the
producer mentioned.
