YEREVAN, December 21 (Noyan Tapan). The republican open championship on "Moscow Pyramid" was held at the Armenian Billiard Federation Club. 50 representatives of Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Etchmiadzin and Masis participated in the tournament. Competition was held by the half-Olympic system: participants, who had two defeats, dropped out of the further contention. Eight billiard-players, who determined the winner by the Olympic system, were selected. Experienced Andranik Grigorian and young Arman Mesropian met in the Decemebr 20 finals of the 4-day interesting contention. A. Mesropian won and acquired the title of the Armenian champion. A. Grigorian placed second, and Gurgen Martirosian placed third. Arman Mesropian, the champion of the Armenian Billiard Federation, was awarded with a special prize - cup. Participants who placed first-eighth received prizes.
