INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT DEDICATED TO TIGRAN PETROSIAN'S
75TH ANNIVERSARY STARTS IN YEREVAN ON NOVEMBER 19

YEREVAN, November 19 (Noyan Tapan). The International
Tournament dedicated to the 75th anniversary of world nine-time
champion Tigran Petrosian starts in Yerevan on November 19. It
is held at the Central Chess-Players House by the Swiss system,
with nine rounds and will complete on November 27. It is
expected that about 140 chess-players from different countries
will participate in the international tournament. 35,000 dollars
is the total prize fund of the tournament. Participants who
will occupy till 30th places, as well as three female and three
junior chess-players, who will show the best standings, will be
awarded. The winner of the tournament will receive 5,000
dollars.
The European Championship on quick chess will be held at
the Central Chess-Players House immediately after the completion
of the tournament, on November 28 and 29. It is also dedicated
to the prominent chess-player's jubilee.
