ARMENIAN GRAND MASTERS FAIL TO WIN PRIZES IN ABU DHABI

YEREVAN, August 26 (Noyan Tapan). 56 chess-players participated in the 14th international chess tournament in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. 15 Armenian grand masters also participated in the tournament. Armenian grand master Ashot Anastasian, earning six points in nine days of the tournament held on the Swiss system, shared 5-8 places. Another Armenian grand master Artashes Minasian earned 5.5 points and placed 10th. Dmitry Bocharov, who earned seven points, became the winner of the tournament. Mikhail Kobalia (Russia), Pavel Kozur (Kazakhstan) and Pentala Harikrishna (India) earned 6.5 points each and shared 2-4 places.
