YEREVAN, June 11 (Noyan Tapan). Over 40 works of sculptor
Tereza Mirzoyan, an honored art worker, were presented at the
exhibition opened at the Painters' Union of Armenia in Yerevan
on June 10. The works of her students Getik Baghdasarian, Vahan
Tokmajian, Emin Petrosian, Mariam Hakobian and others were also
presented.
Tereza Mirzoyan had individual exhibitions in Europe and
the United States. The monumental works of the sculptor are
placed in different countries of Armenia, Russia, Kazakhstan,
and small sculptures are in the state and individual collections
of different countries. The sculptor also devoted herself to
pedagogy, she gave lectures and educated several generations of
art critics. Many of them are recognized sculptors today.
"Looking at these works, I am surprized and amazed how the
woman can create perfectly. Great art is presented here: its
volumes are small but mighty," said Keren Aghamian, Chairman of
the Painters' Union of Armenia, during the opening of the
exhibition. At the same time, he mentioned that he looks at the
presented works with pain, as only poor quality and tasteless
sculptures are placed in the parks of Yerevan, meanwhile such
great works are ignored.
