OSCE conference to review implementation of trial monitoring recommendations in Armenia

Implementation of recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR trial monitoring report for Armenia will be in the focus of a Review Conference on March 10, 2011 organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). The event will bring together government officials, civil society representatives, representatives of international organizations and lawyers. The Conference will review the implementation process of the recommendations prepared by ODIHR Trial Monitoring Report one year ago and will serve as a forum to discuss their relevance and the resulting legislative and institutional initiatives. The event is part of the OSCE efforts in the field of justice sector reform in Armenia. Ambassador Janez Lenarcic, ODIHR Director, Ambassador Sergey Kapinos, the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Mr. Hrayr Tovmasyan, Armenian Minister of Justice and Mr. Aghvan Hovsepyan, Armenian General Prosecutor will make opening remarks.
