The massacres organized at the state level killed the Armenians living in that city. They weren’t hooligan acts, but genocide of Armenians. This is what RA Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tigran Seyranyan declared at the RA Embassy in Prague on February 29, Prague's "ORER" magazine told "Hayern Aysor". During the event organized for journalists and members of the local Armenian community, the Ambassador presented the documentary entitled “Typical Genocide: Sumgait”. After the screening, Ambassador Seyranyan mentioned once again that the Armenians of Sumgait were subject to indescribable sufferings and tortures, and most of them were killed and then burned. Their homes were robbed, and their belongings were destroyed and eliminated. In response to journalists’ questions, the Ambassador also underlined that even though Azerbaijan's state propaganda is against Armenia, he takes pride in the fact that the Czech-Armenian community is counterattacking the Azerbaijanis' propaganda, as in the case of the events in Khojalu.
