PRISONERS WENT ON HUNGER STRIKE IN FEMALE COLONY

TBILISI, NOVEMBER 22, NOYAN TAPAN. By the information of "Solidarity with the illegal prisoners", the inmates went on a hunger strike in the Tbilisi female prison. According to the press-service of the movement, prisoners Natalia Badalyants, Maya Sulakvelidze and Tamara Talikadze declared a hunger strike on Nov.7. They are demanding a meeting with Minister for Corrections, Probation and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze and Public Defender Georgi Tugushi, as well as with MPs. The NGO "Solidarity with the illegal prisoners" urges the Minister, the Ombudsman and deputies to respond to the demands within their competence. According to the organization after a 15-day hunger strike Badalyants's health condition has deteriorated, reported CAUCASUS PRESS.
