On March 21 the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received the Holy See's Apostolic Nuncio to Armenia Marek Solczynski on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials. Congratulating the newly appointed Nuncio, Minister Nalbandian said, "The high-level relations between the two churches of Armenia and Vatican are based on the Christian system of values, bilateral historical ties and spiritual heritage. I am sure that You, as Your predecessors would have an important contribution to the further strengthening of bilateral relations." Expressing gratitude for the congratulations and wishes, Archbishop Solczynski has mentioned that there are good conditions for the further development of the cooperation between Holy See and Armenia and he would do his utmost to expand and strengthen the interaction. The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Apostolic Nuncio stressed the importance of the visit of the the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to Vatican and the meeting with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, which is another proof of the high-level relations. In the course of the meeting the interlocutors exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues.
