Leaders of the Georgian Republican Party, Azerbaijani "Musavat" and the National Movement of Armenia signed a joint declaration in the frames the conference of European liberals "The Path to Peace in the Caucasus: property, freedom and prosperity" in Germany. The document was signed by Georgian Republican Party leader David Usupashvili on behalf of Georgian liberals, reported CAUCASUS PRESS. According to the declaration, the future of the South Caucasus and peaceful settlement of conflicts is associated with entering into the European space. It is necessary to do everything to accelerate the process of European integration and universal values in the South Caucasus, the declaration said. Liberals of the Caucasus call for their governments to protect these fundamental democratic principles such as the right to life, personal freedom, equality before the law, the inviolability of property, free market economy, free and fair elections, transparency in government and public administration. "We also demand immediate release of political prisoners, lifting of restrictions on freedom of word and meetings," the declaration says.
