UN and NCFA to attract funds for Tatev's development

UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Dafina Gercheva and Executive Director of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia (NCFA) Arman Khachaturyan signed a cooperation memorandum on developing communities in Tatev and neighboring villages and attracting funds for the implementation of the programs. Dafina Gercheva said that the funds will be meant for the implementation of the 4-year program for developing the Tatev village community worked out by the UN Armenian Office and NCFA in January 2012, Mediamax reports. The program is meant for developing tourism infrastructures and opening new workplaces in Tatev and neighboring villages. Arman Khachaturyan said that the program cost USD1.6mln and 20% of the sum would be funded by the UN. He noted that they would start taking measures aimed at attracting funds from international structures and representatives of private and public sectors already in April.
