Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland

On April 4 a meeting was held between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian and Erkki Tuomioja, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit. Welcoming the guest, Edward Nalbandian said: “Armenia stresses the importance of deepening comprehensive cooperation with Finland and I am sure that this visit would give an additional impetus to the further strengthening and development of friendly relations.” The Finish Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that he was pleased to visit Yerevan and continue the dialogue for the development of the cooperation in various spheres. Ministers Nalbandian and Tuomioja highlighted with satisfaction the mutual interest to develop the comprehensive cooperation, by stressing that there is sufficient political will and good conditions for it. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Finland and Armenia touched upon the cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, and the projects being implemented in that format. The implementation of reforms and preparations for the upcoming parliamentary election in Armenia were on the agenda of the talks. Erkki Tuomioja presented the electoral processes held in Finland. During the talk, the sides exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues. In this context, Minister Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the Press, information and public relations department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informs.
