Social-democrats of Georgia call for official statement and explanations from Georgian MFA in connection with the information spread in press about possible creation of Georgian-Azerbaijani confederation. As it was said at a press-conference today, such statement will clarify the intention of authorities in this direction. On August 20 Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said that the technical side of creation of such confederation has been decided and now everything depends on the diplomatic negotiations of the two countries, reported "CAUCASUS PRESS". "It is not clear what she meant by the decision of the technical side of the issue, though we have such impression that government has taken the decision and diplomatic efforts in this direction have been initiated," the social-democrats said. They called the attitude of authorities towards the issue "irresponsible". "It is the issue of all the citizens whether to enter any confederation, it is up to them to decide and Georgian authorities act absolutely irresponsibly," the social democrats said.
