Armenia-EU subcommittee on justice, freedoms and security
meets in Yerevan

YEREVAN, JULY 6, NOYAN TAPAN. The first meeting of the
Armenia-European Union Subcommittee on Justice, Freedoms and
Security took place in Yerevan on July 6. Deputy Foreign
Minister of Armenia Ms. Karine Ghazinian and Deputy Minister of
Justice Nicolay Arustamian were Armenian co-chairs of the work
of the subcommittee.
Officials of the Office of Prosecutor General, the Police,
the National Security Service, the National Security Council,
the Central Bank of Armenia, the State Migration Service, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the
Ministry of Economy and other Armenian ministries and
departments are involved in the work of the subcommittee.
The EU delegation was headed by John Kjaer, Head of the
Unit for South Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus of the EU
Commission's External Affairs Directorate.
The RA MFA Press and Information Department reported that
the issues on the agenda included fight against corruption and
organized crime, migration policy, judicial and legal
cooperation, as well as issues related to liberalization of the
visa regime for Armenian citizens traveling to EU countries.
