Armenia's first Ambassador to Singapore presented his credentials to the President of Singapore

YEREVAN, 28 MAY, NOYAN TAPAN: On May 27, Armenia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore Armen Sargsyan (residence in Beijing) presented his credentials to President of Singapore Sellapan Ramanathan. During a meeting that followed, Sellapan Ramanatan wished Armenia’s first Ambassador to Singapore success and expressed certainty that the new ambassador would bring new impetus to the existing friendly relations between both countries. As the department of media, information and public relations of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs told “NT”, elaborating on the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, the newly appointed ambassador stressed the need to establish direct business links between the two countries. He also noted Singapore’s vast experience and its potential usefulness for Armenia’s economic development and strengthening of state structures. Both parties underscored the need of regular political dialogue and bilateral visits at different levels. Ambassador Sargsyan briefed the President of Singapore about the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, as well as regional issues and relations with neighboring countries. During the conversation, Ramanatan mentioned the outstanding role that Armenians have played in the history of Singapore. He also mentioned the need to establish cultural relations between the two countries and suggested that concrete steps be taken to organize more cultural visits.
