Armenian singers toured Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil by the initiative of the RA Ministry of Diaspora

YEREVAN, 25 MAY, NOYAN TAPAN: On May 10-21, RA Distinguished Artists Arsen Grigoryan (Mro), Aram Gevorgyan (Aramo) and well-known singer Emma Petrosyan toured Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Diaspora aimed at supporting the solutions to key issues facing education and culture in the Armenian communities of South (Latin) America. The singers performed modern, folk and national songs in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Montevideo and San Paolo and received the audience’s warm rounds of applause. According to the press release of the Department of Media and Public Relations of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, on May 25, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received the singers and congratulated them on their unprecedented concerts in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. Mrs. Hakobyan mentioned that the process of assimilation is accelerating in Latin American countries and that Armenia has not paid attention to the mentioned communities or organized similar events since its independence. The Minister attached importance to the singers’ benevolent concerts which went to show their state-oriented mindset once again. Arsen Grigoryan (Mro), Aram Gevorgyan (Aramo) and Emma Petrosyan expressed gratitude to the Minister for giving them the opportunity to participate in the program and shared their impressions of the tour. They described the community’s enthusiasm and their warm reception. The singers attached importance to such initiatives which are of strategic importance in terms of preservation of the Armenian identity, consolidation of the Armenian community, etc. “The tranquil brook began to burst,” said Aramo as he tried to describe the great enthusiasm among the Armenians. The singers also informed Mrs. Hakobyan that the Diaspora Armenians were enthusiastic for the establishment of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
