For the past months there has been observed a regular increase in the number of passengers and flights, this being the result of the “open sky” policy adopted by the RA Government.

As compared to April 2013, a 17% increase in passenger flow was observed at the “Zvartnots” International Airport of Yerevan in the 4^th month of 2014. In April 2014 the Airport served 136 730 passengers against 116 838 of the past April.

The number of flights in the same period rose by 40%. Instead of the 1175 flights in past April the number of flights operated in April 2014 was 1643.

If 27 airlines operated regular flights to Zvartnots in April 2013, now their number is 33. Also most of the airlines increased frequencies to all destinations, which resulted in reduction of air ticket prices.
