Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian receives Mark Day, General Manager, Government Industry Worldwide Public Sector Microsoft Corporation

On November 10 the RA Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian received Mark Day, General Manager, Government Industry Worldwide Public Sector Microsoft Corporation. The meeting was also attended by the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Emil Tarasyan, Head of IT and Innovation Department Naira Nikoghosyan, Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan and Director of Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia Yeva Hyusyan.
During the meeting the sides expressed their willingness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation. In particular, it was agreed to establish a bilateral working group to discuss the the directions of further cooperation with "Microsoft" corporation, as well as the further steps of obtaining "Microsoft" licensed software package by RA Government. The achievements of the working group will be fixed in a new agreement to be signed with "Microsoft" corporation.
The RA Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian suggested to continue the partnership with "Microsoft" in order to promote environment for innovation sector development in Armenia, in particular through the establishment of “cloud” and mobile solutions regional center in Armenia and implementation of long-term projects (in research) in conjunction with Armenian specialist working in head office of "Microsoft".
At the same time it was proposed to take active steps for application of "Microsoft" licensed software package in RA Government, expansion of projects in higher education sector in collaboration with "Microsoft" corporation, cyber security cooperation, development of solutions for small and medium enterprises to increase the efficiency to meet the demands of the local market, as well as other issues.
