Events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide in Gdansk

On March 20, leader of Northern Prelacy of Armenian Catholic Church Cesar Anusevich prayed for the repose of souls of innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide, after which candle-lighting and wreath laying ceremonies took place in front of Armenian cross-stone, located a short distance from St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, on the Armenian street in Gdansk, Poland.
Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, public figures and politicians, diplomats, representatives of municipal authorities of Gdansk and Armenian community attended the event.
Accompanied by leader of Northern Prelacy of Armenian Catholic Church, Ambassador Ghazaryan walked around St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, getting acquainted with the church renovation project and left a note in the register-book of honorable guests.
On the same day an exhibition of paintings entitled “Flowers waterfall” by well-known artist Gagik Parsamanyan, resident of Poland, was opened at the History of Gdansk museum, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Exhibition is organized in partnership with the Embassy of Armenia in Poland and Gdansk City Hall.
Ambassador Ghazaryan, mayor of the city of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz, director of History of Gdansk museum Adam Koperkiewicz, leader of Northern Prelacy of Armenian Catholic Church Cesar Anusevich, representatives of Gdansk City Hall, Armenian communities of Gdansk and adjacent populated areas, NGOs, cultural foundations and journalist attended the event.
100 art works presented at the exhibition symbolize 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and depicted flowers waterfall symbolizes rebirth of the Armenian people. 10 exhibitions “Flowers waterfall” will be organized in Poland, as well as number of cities in Europe and will be wrapped up in Armenia.
In their welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony Ambassador Ghazaryan, mayor of the city of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz and director of History of Gdansk museum Adam Koperkiewicz expressed gratitude to Gagik Parsamanyan for magnificent and fine paintings, concern and organization of significant event that contributes to strengthening of Armenian-Polish cultural ties.
