"The Road Police has still no example of car accident, which was caused by tinting the windows " says the "Achilles" NGO drivers Rights Protection Center president (AIPK) Eduard Hovhannisyan, referring to the revised new measures of criminal liability settlement and penalties for traffic violations.
According to him by the second appendix of Road Police rules window tinting is allowed, it is just necessary to measure the degree of light permeability.
"We don’t understand what explanations and substantiations did the Road Police gave to the National Assembly, that the latter adopted a legislative norm on the elimination machine glass tinting",- said E.Hovhannisyan adding that the Road Police is not yet able to explain or justify its decision.
E. Hovhannisyan thinks that Road Police request about not allowing tinting causes discrimination between drivers, also became a profitable business for some of the relevant bodies: "It's time to turn on the red light in front of this Article, and the Road Police should finally act according to law."
According to "Achilles" NGO lawyer Armine Mkrtchyan, the changes in RA Law "Amendments and changes to the Administrative Offences Code of the Republic of Armenia" are only formal and still need to meet the interests of drivers.
"It was good news for all of us when it was announced that in the case of less importance violations towards drivers, in favor of those decisions will be taken.
