On July 27, after a long and severe illness, Noyan Tapan Information Center analyst Harutyun Khachatryan passed away, at age 61.

He started his journalistic career in the early 1990s. H. Khachatryan was one of the journalists who were working for the "outside world", who broke the news blockade of Armenia during the Nagorno-Karabakh War (1991-1994).
H. Khachatryan was one of the people who founded Noyan Tapan. The inner political problems of Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenia’s economic situation and reforms were within the framework of his interests.
One of his famous works about Karabakh conflict resolution is the book "The Nagorno Karabakh Conflict. Solution options: Ideas and Reality” co-worked with Azerbaijani expert Ali Abasov. The book has two editions and has been translated into four languages.
H. Khachatryan was editor-in-chief of the Noyan Tapan Highlights which is being published since 1993. He was also the representative of Sweden-based Central Asia-Caucasus journal in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
H. Khachatryan had worked in The Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and had a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences
H. Khachatryan will stay in our memory as a decent person with high human values.
