“We warmly congratulate people of Artsakh with today's special event, 25 years of independence. We pray and wish that Artsakh continues to prosper, regardless of the difficulties and challenges.”, Noel Thompson, the President of AFA stated.

AFA is determined to continue its work for reaching full recognition of Artsakh’s freedom. Recently the organization took another step in spreading awareness about Nagorno Karabakh’s struggle for liberation.  In particular, along with 40 other countries, Artsakh was presented at Global Festival in Aurora, CO. Thanks to AFA’s Midwest representative Karina Thomson and ANCA’s local representative, Simon Maghakyan, a booth with information about Artsakh as part of Armenian Homeland, was presented along with Canadian, Argentinian, French, German, Greek, Spanish and many other kiosks. Artsakh booth had information about the rich culture and history of Armenia, the heroic struggle for freedom and democracy of Artsakh people. As a part of an interactive game, the visitors had chance to learn how to write their names in Armenian.

“We wanted to use this opportunity so the people of Colorado can learn more about my homeland. People of Artsakh deserve the same freedom as the people of the United States. After all we fought against Azeri aggression much like the founding fathers fought for the freedom of this Great Nation”, originally from Stepnakaert, Karina Thompson had said.

Over 100 visitors, including the state congressman Paul Rozenthal visited the Armenian booth. “My message for the people of Artsakh is to stay strong, just like they have been. I admire you and send you my love and prayers", said Elizabeth Peters, a local citizen, who sympathizes with the struggle of Karabagh people.

According to the President of AFA, Noel Thompson: “It was another great opportunity to educate people of Colorado about Artsakh, its rich cultural heritage, traditions. We will continue raising awareness of Artsakh as a part of Armenian Homeland, present its history, struggles and political situation."

He also added that AFA welcomes any feedback and suggestions on how to help Artsakh.
