YEREVAN, DECEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. A conference on vital problems of HIV/AIDS was held in Yerevan on December 8. The event was devoted to the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Republican HIV/AIDS Prevention Center of Armenia. RA Minister of Healthcare Harutyun Kushkian said the center has achieved significant success, to which the daily hard work of its highly qualified staff has contributed much. In his words, today the center is a modern institution which has been in the front line of the fight against AIDS over the past 20 years. "This center is a unique structure carrying out various activities, including measures on HIV/AIDS prevention, epidemiological studies, final clinical and laboratory diagnosis, out-patient treatment, medical control and statistical investigations, advisory services and monitoring," the minister said.
