“The level of the “Armenia” International Competition is high”

Piano competition is held within the framework of the “Armenia” International Festival and Competition and 48 pianists from 14 countries participate in it. Ketevan Chkhartishvili (Georgia) is one of the contestants. She graduated from Tbilisi State Conservatory. The pianist is laureate of many international competitions.
She said that she was nervous before the performance; she will try to be focused and do her best while performing in front of the jury. The young pianist wished good luck to the all of the contestants!
The member of the jury, pianist, composer, professor from Germany Ratko Delorko noted that it has been early to have a full expression after two-day hearings, but he could already mention that the level has been very high.
Various concerts are held within the framework of the “Armenia” International Festival and Competition. On July 6 Komitas Chamber Music House hosted a concert of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia and violinist Fedor Rudin (Russia/France). Compositions by Antonio Vivaldi, Alexey Shor were presented.
On July 7 a concert entitled “Yerevan Sounds” will take place within the framework of the festival at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.
The organizers of the 1st “Armenia” International Festival and Competition are the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and European Foundation for Support of Culture. It is held with the support of RA Ministry of Culture. The Artistic Director of the competition and festival is Sergey Smbatyan. The event is held under the high patronage of the first lady of the RA Rita Sargsyan.
