RA President to return to Yerevan at midnight and
participate in the session of the National Security Council

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. On October 7 RA President
Serzh Sargsyan ended his pan-Armenian tour with his visit to the
Russian city of Rostov-Na-Donu. The head of state discussed
issues related to the normalization of Turkish-Armenian
relations and the pre-signed protocols with the chairmen of a
number of organizations from the CIS countries.
According to information provided by the Armenian Public
Television, the RA President presented the details of the
initiative, mentioning that the normalization of
Turkish-Armenian relations must first and foremost be viewed
from the angle of interests of Armenia’s statehood. Sargsyan
assured the heads of organizations that the normalization of
relations can never be an issue of depreciation of the Armenian
people’s historical memory and that the purpose of the steps for
normalization is to make the relations between both countries
correspond to the format of the 21st century. The participants
of the meeting asked the RA President their questions,
expressing their doubts and concerns.
As reported by "Yerkir Media" television, Serzh Sargsyan
will return to Yerevan at midnight and will take part in the
session of the RA National Security Council. On October 8 the RA
President will participate in the summit of the Commonwealth of
Independent States and the meeting of the Armenian and
Azerbaijani presidents is foreseen within the framework of the
summit.
