Khachaturian Festival: the female section of the “Hover” performed for the first time

On October 24 Komitas Chamber Music House hosted the concert of the “Hover” State Chamber Choir within the framework of the 5th Khachaturian International Festival. Khachaturian Festival always gives opportunities to new creations. The evening was another example of the phenomena.
During the 1st part of the concert the female section of the “Hover” headed by Narine Voskanyan performed for the first time with an independent program. Compositions by Armenian and Western European composers written for the female choir were presented. During the 2nd part of the concert the whole choir performed for the audience.
The Artistic Director and Conductor of the “Hover” Sona Hovhannisyan noted that Narine Voskanyan is one of her best students and stands on the basis of the choir. She noted that she was very happy that her students became independent, which is also important for the development of the field. Sona Hovhannisyan founded the choir in 1992. The choir celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Referring to the anniversary of her choir Sona Hovhannisyan noted that the “Hover” is inseparable part of her life.
It should be noted that “Hover” choir performed within the framework of the Khachaturian International Festival before, presenting the rich palette of the choral music to the audience.
The 5th Khachaturian International Festival is held under the high patronage of the President of RA Serzh Sargsyan. It is implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (General Partner of the Orchestra – VivaCell-MTS), with the support of the Ministry of Culture of RA, the “Khachaturian” Foundation, European Foundation for Support of Culture.
