Yerevan Brandy Company plans to purchase 32 thousand tons
of grapes this year

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Yerevan Brandy Company
(YBC) will start the purchase of grapes on September 16. The YBC
CEO Ara Grigorian said at the September 11 press conference that
the company plans to purchase 32 thouasnd tons of grapes this
year, which will exceed by 1,000 tons last year's index. The
purchase price of 1 kg of grapes was fixed at 130 drams at
Armavir and Aygavan branches of YBC and 120 drams in Tavush. The
company will allocate a total of 4 billion drams (100.8 thousand
USD) for the purchase of grapes.
According to A. Grigorian, the money will transfered to
bank accounts of about 5,000 partner-vine growers 3-7 days after
the purchase.
As for future plans of the company, he said that they
envisage putting a new distillation department into operation at
the Tavush branch in October, for which YBC has invested 50
million drams. This will enable to distil high quality spirits
and develop viticulture in Tavush marz.
